Master Roofers are delighted to announce our partnership with National Construction Training Service Ltd. We currently offer training in two key locations within the UK.
A state-of-the-art facility in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, offers training in areas including hard metal roofing (copper, zinc and stainless steel), lead sheet and also slating and tiling.
Our newly opened, state-of-the-art academy in Salford, Greater Manchester, is fully equipped with everything you will need to learn the art of roofing with a variety of roofing disciplines. We specialise in many industry-recognised roofing techniques – with an extensive knowledge of practices taught by an expert team.

When we first began discussing the training centres, our aims were very clear: to change the way training was delivered in roofing.
We have thrown out the old norms, the repetitive rigs, the simplified exercises, and our design process was clear. We wanted challenging and comprehensive roof set-ups, real-life situations in a workshop environment, and above all, for the student experience to be exciting and inspiring.
We have worked hard to bring the very best tutors, craftspeople and assessors in the country to deliver training and accreditation, passing down invaluable knowledge and real-life experience to our students.
All our tutors are themselves highly skilled, with many decades of experience in the roofing industry. This team is paramount to the ethos of our centres and is the backbone of our educational goals.
Both centres also carry the ‘Richard Murdoch Training Centre for Excellence’ accolade among many other industry-recognised accreditations.
The NCTS curriculum is designed to offer skills and development to everyone within the construction industry. From beginners to experienced tradespeople, we can offer a range of industry-recognised qualifications designed to help you make the next move in your career, improve in a niche area or simply gain more confidence.
We are dedicated to developing a curriculum which will benefit the construction industry. Our centres are open to all construction sector employers and those looking to develop or start a career in the industry.
The slating and tiling pathway is an in-depth course, focussing on the most frequently used slating and tiling roof details which a student may come across when installing slates and tiles in a restoration and new build capacity on site. This course is supported by the Pay as you Train scheme
Contact us at training@masterroofers.co.uk for more course information.
This scheme is an initiative to make training and learning affordable for all.
It can work in one of these two ways:
1. You can pay for your training in instalments (usually four instalments for a five-day training course).
2. For bigger courses like the pathway courses or courses which run into ten or 15 days, you can separate the training schedule into five-day (one-week) blocks and pay for them in a more manageable way.
We can advise you on available course dates which give you time to pay before you come to the centres. All courses need to paid up in full at least three weeks before your course is due to start.

Many roofers are now opting to get qualified away from training centres through the OSAT route. An OSAT – or On-site Assessment and Training – scheme offers a flexible way to qualify in roofing disciplines. NCTS/Master Roofers offer OSATs in many roofing areas.
